Merry Christmas Everyone!

We have had a big day, but it was pretty relaxing really. I even managed a Nanna nap on my Mums bed this afternoon - I was more stuffed than the turkey and needed to sleep it off!

We are heading north early in the A.M but I wanted to post these before we took off...

I organised this session a few months back, they came all the way from Mt Isa for Christmas celebrations with their family about an hour or so away. Little Sienna - 9 months - was very unsure of me at first. So we just took our time getting comfortable and then once that was over it was on! She is a crack-up!! She is going to be a funny little dot, I'm sure of it. I just adore her squishy arms... nom nom nom.... Gorgeous!!

My favourite would have to be the kiss sandwhich!

Farewell loyal blog stalkers, I shall return in 2009 for a massive year!!

This is me, taking time off...

... But who could resist a phone call for a 7 day old baby? Not I said the fly!

Baby Issac, 7 days old, sleepy, curly and just adorable. He was just divine and soooooooo relaxed. He is the youngest of 4 boys, and his older brothers are just as gorgeous. What a joy this little guy was to photograph, can't wait to watch him grow!

The Silly Season...

...requires a silly blog header! Stevie and Paige are my biggest stalkers I think. They deserve to feature until mid-Jan!!

Only a week until Christmas and I have NO presents wrapped. The Hubs and I usually do it together, but every. single. time I get the sh*tties because he ALWAYS steals my sticky tape and it irritates me having to wait until he is done, that I end up having to walk away before I burst into a sticky tape tanty. And I have to write out all the card thingos, because he thinks his writing isn't neat enough (he's right). I don't think I am a controlling person, but when it comes to wrapping and getting it right, maybe I am. I need another week to get organised on the wrapping front please!

That also means another 8 days until our holiday, which is pretty exciting. Everything is booked in and we are now having discussions on what to pack, and how to pack it. Did I say we have 8 days to departure??? Our current argument is about an esky. Again, controlling? Me? I am a total scrooge mcDuck and want to take one so we can take our own food and drink on our various holiday adventures. He thinks Woolies cold bags will be fine. Hello? Aren't two of those equivilant in size to the esky I think we should take?? Argh!

Seeing as we are going coastal, I am in need of swimmers (don't scream, I know it's scary). Now, I am a large woman, plus-sized, blah blah. I dont have huge issues with the general public seeing me in swimming attire, but only if I also have a pair of shorts to go with a one piece. I don;t want to scare the little children. Do you think I can find a decent one piece for a gal my size?? Chubby girls need to be at one with the water too swimming costume designers!! I already KNOW I am chub, don't make me feel like I am also 75 by adding ruffles to my arse and/or shoulders! As an aside, I cannot WAIT to go down some waterslides - it's like my favourite past time. I have no fear, and will line up for as long as it takes to get the thrill and going down (pretty fast, Im 'plus-sized' remember?) a tunnel and blasting into the pool at the bottom. I also love the beach, going right out and duck diving under huge waves!!

Must be off, I think I'll go buy two seperate rolls of sticky-tape so we can have one each to avoid a Chistmas divorce...

Ruby

What a princess, she was such a good girl for her first official photo shoot, although Im sure she's had plenty of experience in front of the camera being a first baby!

And just look at her Ruby slippers! Bless...

These little piggies...

...belong to the most gorgeous boy, Tom. And he has a gorgeous, gorgeous sister who LOVES to poke her tongue out at all times, Georgia. What a dolly, I am totally in love with these two kiddies. They photograph beaituflly!

Georgia was Christened on Saturday which brought her cousins Airlie (not sure on spelling, sorry Amanda!) and Charlie to visit. Tom was so ill with a tummy bug that I organised to go back today when he was feeling better.

What a cutie! They were all beautiful kids, and as you can see from the image overload I couldn't decide which ones to show for a peek so I just showed them all...

Silly Season Messages

I keep forgetting to post some Cupcakes News...

Cupcakes will be closed from December 1st through to January 29th.

The Christmas rush has been amazing, and so so very busy. I am working solidly to get all proofing done by this Friday, the 5th. ALL print orders must be paid for and in by Monday December 8th to ensure Christmas delivery. After this date there will be an $18 surcharge to rush your order through and even then I cannot guarentee Christmas delivery (it will depend on the date when placing your order).

Deb girls&boys - I am yet to receive over half of your orders, again if you want them by Christmas... get cracking! You have already paid for the photos in your package too don't forget...

We are going away on the 26th for our very first ever BIG family holiday. We will be gone for nearly 2 weeks and the whole family is very excited. We have been talking about it all year and the kids can hardly contain themselves. And you know what? WE DESERVE IT! We have struggled and 'made do' for years and years while The Husband aquires his qualifications and he has worked so hard to provide our wee family with a secure future. He has now graduated and with the help of all of my clients and the success of Cupcakes this year we are able to take this time off and just relax and enjoy being together as a family. We have more than earnt it - the hard yards really do pay off.

As you all know I have 3 children, one big school kid and two little ones so the break will give me a chance to re-connect with them without the pressures of work. Especially my eldest who will be on school holidays. Every other school holidays when the little ones are at daycare I have been working/proofing. The time off will give us a chance to spend some one-on-one time together doing some womens things, some fun things, some cooking, organizing and some artistic adventures. She is in love with art, loves to get messy, stick things on other things... She won't have to do those things alone these holidays as I will be available to do it all too! She turns 9 on Saturday, she's 1 year off being in double digits! Crazy, time flies and they grow up all too quickly.

Most of all I am looking forward to shooting for me, getting back to the more fun side of things, rather than all the fun being to do with work! I ADORE my job, but it is still a job. My love of photography is still as feirce as it ever was, I am so fortunate to be in a job I love. Photos of my own children have taken a backseat for clients and I kick myself over it!!! I am excited to get some killer shots of them, especially all together. How can a pro photographer not have a worship wall of their very own kids!!??!!

In the second half of January I have a VERY exciting photographic project to plan and complete, my lips are SEALED though as its all very hush hush at the moment. Just know it is very, very big and I am again very fortunate to have such an opportunity!

I think I will close here with a thankyou to ALL my clients who are all such wonderful people. We've had a great year together. Special shout out to all the babies celebrating their first Chistmas, and a HUGE shout out to Carly and Darren who are sharing their first Christmas together as an old married couple!

I look forward to more challenges in 2009! I wish you all a wonderful Chistmas and New Year period and may 2009 bring you love, happiness and joy.

Bec xxx

PS Of course I will be updating the blog with photos all the time, I cannot help myself so be sure to check in!

Artie - 10 days

Oh my GOODNESS!!!

There really are no words for this sweet little guy. He was so well behaved and did very well for his first photo shoot...

My lovely work experience girl, Kate, assisting me with Artie today. Kate is my second work experience girl this year (the other being called Kate too :) ) . She is lovely, and is a lot of fun. We spent half of the first day looking at and discussing our favourite music. She is a music nut too, and loves all my music. A girl after my own heart! Hope you have had a good week Kate, and I'll bill you for the broken camera. Thanks A LOT!!! (jokes)

Baby Lewis

He's 9 weeks now, and still as beautiful as he was the first day I laid eyes and lens on him...

Jaz and Jay

The most gorgeous kids, they are the children of a good friend of mine. I BEGGED her to let me take them for a quick photo shoot before they headed home after staying over for one night on a weekend trip.

Jaz is beautiful and has a real exotic look about her, a perfect mix of her Mum and Dad. Jay is Dad all over, already playing footy (at 3) and had his first game "...at Brooky oval!".

Sweet family

Another sweet family, these guys bid on a session with me at the fundraiser for the local Hospital Ball. This family was so cute, and their house is so new and just gorgeous! The girls were sweethearts and made my job very easy - exactly what I needed coming from the five kids before!

Two words : SHE'S TWELVE
