Forgive me stalkers, for I have sinned.

It has been seven days since I last blogged.

It has been a busy week, with my Littlest Girl turning 4, and The Husband starting a new job. I did manage to fit in this lovely session with Jack, Harry and Tom.

Well, Tom and I are in love. He is the most divine baby, reminded me so much of my own Boy. The snuggles and cuddles... and he was just the happiest boy!!! And he had been practicing his new smile for the past week, little monkey.

I picked Harry to flake first, what a whirlwind! I layed on my stomach to get those low down shots and he fully body-slammed me! Lucky he is SO cute, big blue eyes and blonde hair. He was too busy for too many photos. Mainly because he had to go back to 'work' - important Tonka Truck business.

Jack flaked first and was just over it by the end! He had made up his mind for NO MORE photos! Luckily, I got him anyway and managed some beautiful portraits of this cheeky-chops!

Wild about Harry

There is just *something* about curly locks. And freckles. And little boys. All mixed in creates MAGIC.

Harry is my...nephew? OK maybe my nephew who I don't see often, my step-brothers little dynamite. I havent seen him since he was 18 months old which is just insane really! He is adorable and I have been hanging to attack this child with my camera for a long time, after seeing loads of photos mum brings home when they visit. It's the hair, and that cheeky streak!

Doesn't know me from a bar of soap, and I rock up with my big bag and ask him if I can take his photo. Cue cheeky grin and a big nod and we were off. A total superstar!

My Muse.. is at it again.

Looking all bewdiful, posing like a model, doing exactly what I ask her at all times. Although I don't have to direct her all that much, she is a natural and LOVES having her photo taken (and, err, I've heard she loves practicing in the mirror too...). I asked her to look sad and she laughed. I said she'd have to think of something REALLY sad so she could be serious. She asked "Like what?". The first thing that came to mind was to say 'think of a dead kitten'. Oh my GOODNESS! Why would I say that to a four year old?!?! Luckily she is as sadistic and crazy as her mother and absolutely lost it and cacked herself...

She makes my heart smile.

And she inspires me when I am in a rutt, because she is sooooooooooo beautiful and girly and gorgeous and stunning and willing and gives me such good eye contact.

And I love that she knows how gorgeous she is.

And I hope that she always knows it.

Ohhhhhhhhh Baby Archie

I must admit, I was a tad nervous about Master Archie. He is nearly 3 weeks old, and usually at this age there is no sleepy sleeps for The Cupcakes Lady, nor any happiness at being awake and not held! Luckily, he was just so happy awake, with the added bonus of being delish and just so sweet. What a total sweetheart, I think I am in love. My ovaries gave a slight cough looking through the proofs... Not enough of a cough though! I think they need whooping cough to convince me to have more babies! What a wonderful job, cuddles and time with newborns. Ahhhhh.....

I also have to admit to being in a bit of a block regarding newborns. I LOVE fresh babies, but there is only so much you can do until all newborn sessions start looking the same. And I never want that. I want fresh, and unique and new. I wanted to just stop thinking about posing the baby and doing limited shots and just letting the baby Be. And letting myself Be. Watching the baby, shooting from the heart and getting images that have so much feeling. because isn't that what being a newborn baby in this world all about? Babies bring so much love, happiness (and sleeplessness!) into peoples lives, I just want to capture that. And I really think I did with Archie... xx

Gorge family!

A great afternoon was had with these guys, in their absolutely beautiful home. I was the hottest I have ever been in my life though I think! Melissa (Mum) is just gorgeous, she is VERY photogenic and really shines through in all the images. The kiddos were fantastic too, as was Steven!

(These are the people who made me take photos of them in their pool at the end of the session. I mean, how MEAN are they??? Kidding! I came home and 'swam' in my own pool... Um that would be the small kiddies pool that I cant even submerge into!!)

Princess

Look, I know. This was a family shoot. And I got plenty of photos of the family, especially with the eldest Sean (Aaron?) who is leaving soon for the army. All the kids had their portraits taken, we even had the red chair for added effect.

But when faced with a brown-eyed, freckle-face, red-haired girl who was pretty much willing to do ANYTHING I asked of her, I just couldn't help myself.

We started early - the heat here is insane. So is getting up early!! But I'd prefer the cooler morning temps than the crap at midday so up early I was for a really fun morning. They even provided cold drinks and seeing as I was already hot I accepted a can of doom - my NY resolution was no fizzy drink in ANY form (not even diet). My old friend Mr Coke was too icy to resist so I caved!!

Great morning with this family!!

Benjamin

My first session of the weekend, little Benjamin, 6 months. Well, he was actually a porker. Sooooooo adorable, chunka babies are just gorgeous. My Boy was an absolute TANK and weighed as much as Benjamin at just 7 weeks old!!!! He was like a ball, I never thought he was going to even move he was so fat (I made full cream milk). The funniest thing anyone ever said to me was that if she were to make a roast baby out of My Boy, there's be lots of crackling! Same with Benjamin!! Just beautiful, a lovely healthy boy who didn't just smile with his mouth and face, he smiled with his entire body!

More to come shortly from this weekends sessions - escaped the heat by shooting early this morning but didn't escape it for this afternoons session! And they even tortured me and made me take photos of them in their pool!!!
