I promise xx
After having to drop everything Cupcakes related about 6 weeks ago due to personal/family reasons, I am finally home with my husband and children!! Of course they have visited when they could, but it's not the same. I am happy to be home and ready to tackle the rest of the year.
I would like to thank Jen, my assistant in chief, for taking on all enquiries and letting people know they will be answered as soon as possible. Without her help, I would have lost a lot of business and many emails would have been unanswered. Thank you so much Jen xx
Also, new and past clients have been very understanding of my circumstances and I just want to say thank you for being so wonderful. I will get to you all as soon as I can and really appreciate your past and future patience xx
*****************************************
Taking this time away from the business and home has made me realise that I am only human and I really do need to sometimes take a step back, and breathe. Cupcakes has really grown in the past year and while I adore the work, people and experiences, I am only ONE person. I cannot delegate anything to anyone really and so it all falls on me. This is fine and dandy, but I do need to space out sessions, and make sure I have time off to be with my family. Working from home makes it very hard to separate work and home life, I need to start being strict!!
So, there will be a few changes made in the coming week or two to ensure not only my sanity, but my family's too. Family is EVERYTHING to me, and they must come first above everything else. I am glad that I make clients feel like they are my only client in the world and that I am here soley for them, but it is actually not the case (sorry!). I always have a thousand things going on - shoots/cooking/ordering prints/washing/school things/daycare things/editing images/dog walking...arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!! Life is busy, and that's fine. I haven't been 'busy' for 6 weeks, it has made me take a step back and see where changes need to be made for Cupcakes.
I look forward to the rest of the year, and thank everyone for their understanding. The sky didn't fall in my absence afterall...

I am extatic you are home and look forward to the new changes that you will be implementing. With talent as great as yours, you almost seem god like and its easy to forget that you are just a normal gal with a family. Welcome home Bec.
Hey Bec - really sorry to hear that - I am glad that you are home with your family and starting to feel better. I was wondering where you had gone noticed that you haven't been on Beyond either. Hope to see you there again soon. Holly Netto big {{{hugs}}}
Welcome back Bec! Hope you realise how much you are appreciated and given that most of your loyal followers "stalkers" are mums trying to juggle all manner of things we couldn't agree more about the need to step back and breathe! Sometimes we need something to make us stop and re-evaluate what is truly precious to us, Good luck finding the right balance for you and your family and you never know,you may inspire some of us to do the same!!
Welcome back you've been missed!!
I know the feeling, sometimes one has to take a break from life and one own expectations. I am glad you have a supportive family and good people to lean on. Hoping the best for you, and I look forward to seeing your inspirational work again. Bearhugs Jess
