Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte. My driving life will NEVER be the same again, not since the introduction to the most annoying and funniest game on the planet.
A wonderful friend of mine, Ingrid (from LottieLouLou ) and I got together when in Sydney. She made the most adorable blanket for Jonah at my request, as he is OBSESSED with motorbikes, and I wanted to buy him a little boys set for his 2nd birthday. I couldnt find one suitable for a 2 year old, so I got the fabric and she worked her genius in record time. He will NOT go into his bed without it.

Anyhoo, we met up for a quick mini session with Charlotte (nearly 5) and Ingrid because Charlotte is wearing glasses full time now and needed some confidence boosting, and on our way to meet other friends in Ingrids car, I heard Charlotte from the back say "Yellow Car". About 5 minutes later, she again said "Yellow Car".
Has anyone never noticed that yellow cars are really not that common?? They arent like white, or even blue. This game started because Charlotte loves the colour yellow.
Being the kiddy type person that I am, I wanted to join in. So I spotted a yellow car and said "Yellow Car!!" and she says "Already saw it". I let it slip, until I saw another one and said "Yellow Car!!" and she said "I already saw that one too". I asked why she didn't call yellow car, and she said she didnt feel like it, but she had indeed seen it first.
It was then explained to me, that this is a game only Charlotte can win. If you saw it first, you actually didn't. Charlotte did. If YOU don't feel like calling it, Charlotte will, and if you say that you saw it first, you still actually didn't. Charlotte did.
I cannot help now, but call YELLOW CAR every time I see one. My husband does it too now, and my 3 year old, who doesn't get it, calls "Blue car" when she sees a red car. If we are not even playing it, I still say it in my head, almost like I HAVE to at least acknowledge that there was a yellow car. My 2 year old says 'lello gar' right after me, but I know now that *I* have seen it first.

Well she was mighty impressed with that rainbow car so you have finally scored one point in the yellow car game.
